Storytelling Ethics Spotlight: Hull Services and Callie’s Story

In an earlier post, I mentioned that organizations are using caricatures and comic strips to tell composite stories. This requires some serious artistic chops, but it’s highly engaging and I think the format helps the audience understand that what they are seeing is a “typical” story rather than a “real” story.
Hull Services in Calgary has a fantastic example that I wanted to share. They are addressing a really tough topic in a way that is educational and accessible to a broad audience, helping to raise awareness and give people language around a very difficult life experience. This is not your average annual report.
